Saturday showed signs of summer for the Florida Flat K1 marathon, and it was refreshing to see a podium full of people from our pond with Wayne Jacobs winning, followed by Benjamin Mntonintshi and then MJ Robb. Well done guys. Ruoxi Hao continues to dominate the Guppies while Kyle Armdorf won the short course race again. Aara Judy was the first girl home – and the only female representative from Dabs or SCARC. Come on the junior and senior ladies! Thanks to Delport for organizing the event.

In confusing news, Jayne Wacobs and Liniton Ook claim to have spotted an Otter during Thursday night’s Time Trial. After others said they were caught-out by a catfish, they sent us this picture saying he’s really real and even named him Ottomus Prime. Please let us know if you see the perplexity.

To change things up a bit, our next two Time Trials will involve portages along the astro. This should be great training for the elite marathon racers but could also be bad for those who typically role themselves out their boats. When Boet heard of this idea, he promptly left town. Talking portages, there is rumour that the LBV will have two random runs, to emulate the Fish. Some say it’s a kak idea, others think it’s great. What do you think? While on the subject of rumours, there has been talk, shock and horror that the 10-in-1 may become a boat race. The stalwarts can relax, the 10-in-1 won’t be watered-down, but other things may also happen.

Finally, Dabs has an Open Day on Saturday 31st. Please be nice to all who attend, they could be our future stars.
