GETTING STARTED
1. INTRODUCTORY SESSIONS
The introductory sessions are run by our club coach (and Olympic silver medalist and World Champion),
Attila Adrovicz.
We would like to encourage all beginners to join the club.
You can book an individual or group session on the following days:
- Thursday by appointment
- Saturday between 08:30 – 10:00
The introductory class is R300 per person. We provide all equipment, including the boat, paddle and life-jacket (on request). All you need is some sunscreen and clothes that can get wet! Please note that all beginners need to be able to swim.
Additional coaching classes can be provided on Saturdays for non-beginners at R300 per lesson, by appointment.

2. TRAINING SESSIONS
Once you have completed the Introductory Session with our club coach, you can start more regular training. These sessions are run by Attila, who will give you invaluable tips and tricks to improve your technique and stamina.
Included In Club Fees:
• Monday – Beginner 2000m timed Time Trial 16h30
• Tuesday – High Performance Paddlers session 17h10 to 18h10
• Wednesday – General training, technique video analysis 16h30 onwards
• Thursday – 10 km Official timed Time Trial 17h30 winter 17h45 summer
• Saturday – Advice during distance training 07h00 onwards
• Sunday – 10km Time Trial 08h00 all year round
Available For Additional Fees:
Introductory lesson, individual lessons, junior High Performance Paddlers group and school groups.

MORE ABOUT THE COACHES & EQUIPMENT
CLUB COACH – ATTILA
Attila offers a variety of coaching packages to canoeists of all levels – from beginners sessions to Olympic standard training with his elite High Performance Squad.
As an athlete Attila has garnered numerous podium positions for Hungary between 1984 and 1996 at World Championship events in K2 and K4 Sprints, as well as a silver medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games for K4 in the 1000m.
He is a qualified sports scientist with a degree in Kayak-Canoeing Coaching from the Semmelweis University Faculty of Sports and Physical Education.
He has worked with both Hungarian and South African National teams, with athletes who achieved numerous podium positions at both Worlds and Olympics.

CLUB EQUIPMENT
Club equipment (canoes, life jackets, paddles) is not for general use.
New and all members U16 may only use club equipment under the supervision of a club approved coach. Those currently registered are:

CLUB RULES FOR PAID UP MEMBERS
Rights
• Access to facilities at any time using access disc
• Parking (members only) in boat pound or club parking
• Access to Club Coach during his times
• Use of Club boats, paddles and PFDs for 3 months after joining (under coach supervision for U16)
Responsibilities
• Do not share access disc
• Do not allow access to non-members
• No Club equipment to leave the property
• Pack equipment away after use
• No storing of boats anywhere except in a paid-up rack
• ALL new members must do one (paid) introductory lesson with the Club Coach
• Members U16 may only use club equipment under the supervision of a Club-approved Coach
• Members’ visitors are welcome, however, they may not use Club equipment and must park outside
• Club equipment is utilised for Beginners Sessions on Saturdays from 8h30 to 10h30. Please contact the Club coach if you would like to use Club equipment during this time
HOUSE RULES
Please do not allow your children to play on the candock or to lean/play on the canoe polo goal posts. The candock is not to be run on or otherwise interfered with. It is a very expensive piece of equipment and it is being damaged.
The club is for the use of paid up members only. Staff have been instructed not to open the gates for anyone without a tag. In the interests of security, please respect the above and do not let in non-members. Please also ensure that the door to the change rooms is not jammed open by paint tins etc. Only people with tags may access the change rooms.
