Despite the very best efforts from the organisers to avoid any risk for the Land Owners and Farmers in the area due to the current Foot & Mouth issue, the decision has been taken to cancel the race for 2022. Learn more about the Foot-and-Mouth Disease below and what the impact of it is on our livestock.

Race Director Brad Glasspoole confirmed, “We have a wonderful working relationship with the farmers, who have been very supportive of the event and hosting it, but it was agreed that their livelihoods should not be put at any risk for a recreational sports event.” The organisers concurred and consequently, the race will be postponed for 2022 but the planning for a bigger and better event for 2023 has already begun, given all the effort invested into the 2022 event.

“The relations with the locals will be stronger than before given what unfolded this year,” Glasspoole assured, “and hence we are doing all that we possibly can to make the 2023 edition something special. We trust the paddling fraternity will understand the situation and we look forward to their support of our initiatives next year.”

We are however excited to let you know that the Dabs 4 Hour Enduro will be taking place in this slot. More details to follow.
